Engineering

Here's a bit of technical nostalgia for those of you who would like to know more about the technical side of the old WDTH FM Stereo 103. These are original log sheets used by (now retired) WDTH FM Chief Engineer Bob Peterson. Here he would log items of activities proformed by the CE whenever there was a need for maintenance on any of the station's equipment.

WDTH Transmitter Log

Above is the transmitter master log. All the transmitter readings taken were recorded here on this log sheet. Please note in the upper left hand corner of this log sheet the date May 26, 1971. Apparently this was the orginal sign on date of WDTH FM and the log sheet used during that period of time. These were filled out on a daily basis and kept on file with the enigneering logs in the event the FCC requested them or stopped by at random for an inspection. All these engineering records had to be kept in order and up to date otherwise the station owner was fined. And those fines had the potential of being hefty!

Hopefully we have explained these correctly, otherwise we KNOW Bob Peterson will tell us otherwise. Bob was very "by the book" in our view and in all honesty all CE's had to be. Or it was their license and the station's if they weren't. A bit of history here none the less.
